SA violence: Loads of looted goods seized

Residents of Boiketlong in the Vaal are accusing police of unfairly confiscating some of their belongings after police and the army raided the informal settlement.

Several items recovered are believed to have been looted from a nearby mall during the recent looting and riots in the country.

However, fingers are being pointed back at the police, and local NGO’s are concerned.

Meanwhile, the government says the seized items will be used as evidence in court, after which the goods will be destroyed.
