We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Controller to help us ensure clients orders are processed by implementing the export and import processes according to legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Co-ordinate Sea freight importsPlace order with the suppliersCheck P.O’s and confirm correctnessReceive final shipment documents Check and monitor the ETA of the shipment Complete clearing instructions and send the request and relevant documents to the clearing agent Check the draft entries received from the clearing agent before submission to SARS customs Co-ordinate receipt of all original shipment import documents Petty cash reconciliation & payment2. Local and national supplier importsConstructing of order, liaising with supplier – Plan orders according to sales needs Send order requestsReceive proforma order from supplier Establish readiness of orders and or advise when the orders are needed Request all clearing documents Request payments for orders if need be before deliveryArrange transporterLiaise with store on receipt of the goods (GRN) (if arrived) and ensure all relevant documents are attached including SARSRequest the GRN’s and SAD505 signed and company stamped from the receiving store Request clearing agent to do acquittal and COO (Change of Ownership) entries Check the draft entries before clearing agent submits it to SARS customsComplete the electronic company register with all the relevant information of all imports3.
ExportsReceive sales orderCheck on the availability of the stockRequest the sales invoiceAdvise the loading store about the exportDeduct the stock from register with the relevant informationComplete all export documents (COO letter, packing list, export instruction) and add the invoice and all relevant documents and forward to clearing agent with the instruction to do the export SARS entries – Send all relevant documents and instruction via e-mailGet vehicle and driver details and receive copy of the passport to the clearing agentRequest the signed load notes and SAD505 from the loading storeReceive border stamped documents from clearing agents / client / transporterFor international export, bill of lading to be received to prove goods leftAll preliminary documents co-ordination, including invoicesSkills and QualificationsMatric Expert knowledge of customs (SARS) processes3 – 5 years’ experience in freight forwarding and clearingKnowledge of customs clearing processes and proceduresKnow how to read entries (SAD500)General sea freight, airfreight, imports and exports knowledgeGood general technical and systems understanding as well as good pc skills (MS office)Ability to work independentlyAbility to interact with clientsSystematic and articulateAbility to initiate and negotiate price structures and tariffsPlease forward your full CV to our email address.
