President Cyril Ramaphosa is addressing the nation on lockdown regulations as the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) reported 12,056 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
A total of 413 more people have died, taking South Africa’s death toll to 69,488.
3,600 of the new cases are in Gauteng, 2,5000 are in the Western Cape and 1,700 are in KwaZulu Natal.
Over 2.1-million people have recovered from COVID-19.
