Another lockdown lawsuit on the cards for government

The government is being dragged to court yet again over the lockdown extension.

Advocacy group Dear South Africa filed an urgent application in the Pretoria High Court.

It wants the national state of disaster extension set aside.

The group says it’s illogical and done without Parliamentary oversight as required by the Constitution.

The state of disaster has been extended until 15 December.

It has given Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma until Wednesday to respond.
