Gauteng assessing economical impact of COVID-19 lockdown – Makhura

Gauteng Premier David Makhura said the provincial government was assessing what impact the COVID-19 lockdown had on the province’s economy.

Makhura has been speaking at the Gauteng command council briefing on Thursday afternoon where he announced that 90% of people that they were tracking have now been located and tested.

The province remains the epicentre of the virus in the country with 782 infections.

The premier has urged residents to continue complying with the regulations.

“One of the things that worries us is that beyond the lockdown, there are a lot of people who will be coming back to Gauteng. We’re already planning for that.”
