Stage 6 load shedding until further notice
Fears of South Africans facing a bleak and cold winter season are starting to get real.
Eskom has now ramped-up power cuts to Stage 6 indefinitely.
The struggling power utility says Unit 2 has tripped at the Koeberg nuclear power station.
That was the only functioning unit at the station after unit 1 was taken offline for repairs in January.
The cause of the trip is still under investigation.
Eskom was initially meant to reduce power cuts to stage four on Sunday.
The utility says it will give an update if there are any changes.
