Senzo Meyiwa trial: Live audio broadcast of testimony allowed

The live audio broadcast of Witness 1 in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial will be allowed.
Judge Tshifhiwa Maumela ruled that her image may not be shown.
This is in line with rules for the media on all previous witnesses.
The witness applied to have all live broadcasts banned, saying she feared for her life.
“The court makes the following order. One, that live broadcast of the image of the witness, that is Witness Number 1, will not be permitted.
“Two, that members of the electronic media are permitted to live broadcast the testimony of Witness Number 1 by means of audio,” Maumela ruled.
“I might just add that the prohibition of images of Witness Number 1 while she testifies shall remain in place until the finalization of this case.”
