Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities Sindisiwe Chikunga has described the allegations against suspects linked to the Limpopo pigsty murders as the worst thing anyone could do.
Three men accused of killing Maria Makgato and Kudzai Ndlovu and dumping their bodies in a pigsty were back in court on Tuesday.
The women are believed to have been shot dead after venturing onto the farm looking for expired food items.
The case has now been postponed to early next month for a bail hearing.
Chikunga attended the proceedings on Tuesday.
“There is no excuse whatsoever because those women, they’re innocent. Even if they were in the place wrongly – if they were for that matter – but surely you wouldn’t therefore start by shooting and killing them but worst of all, drag their bodies and throw them into a pigsty – that’s the worst thing for any human being to do.”
