Limpopo Health MEC welcomes 30 Christmas babies

The Limpopo province has welcomed over 30 Christmas babies. Health MEC, Phophi Ramathuba, paid a visit to the new moms and bundles of joy in various parts of the province. The first baby was born five minutes after midnight, weighing 1.9-kilogrammes.

Ramathuba noted with concern that the newborn’s mom is underage. The 15-year-old girl gave birth at the Malamulele hospital. By Monday afternoon the province had recorded 10 cases of underage mothers giving birth.
