Level 3 Lockdown: Police Minister Bheki Cele urges officers not be heavy-handed

Police Minister, Bheki Cele, is urging police not to be too heavy-handed over level three restrictions.

But reiterates if they are under threat they can use force. He warns that criminals won’t get any leniency for committing crimes.

“It is not in the Constitution to be brutal, you don’t have to be brutal but again, it’s not in the Constitution to let criminals go,” he said.

Police presence is expected to increase significantly as we head into the New Year.
