Level 2 lockdown: Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma clarifies regulations on the sale of alcohol

The restrictions on the sale of liquor will be lifted from Tuesday under level two regulations. The sale of liquor by licensed premises is permitted from 9 am to 5 pm, from Mondays to Thursdays.

However, the sale of liquor is prohibited on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

These established have been permitted to operate with only a maximum of 50 patrons and observing health and hygiene protocols including washing of hands, sanitizing, wearing of masks and also a distance of 1.5 meters between patrons.

Nightclubs will, however, remain closed during this period. The curfew between 10 pm and 4 am remains in place.
