‘She was a s.e.x worker when I met her’: More trouble in paradise as Lebo claps back at Letoya Makhene
The estranged wife of actress and singer Letoya Makhene, Lebohang Pulumo Keswa has hit back at the actress’s domestic violence and stealing claims.
This comes after the former Generations: The Legacy actress told Sunday World that Lebohang physically assaulted her, stole money from her, and is refusing to give her back her belongings.
In June, Lebohang, who is a businesswoman, confirmed her separation from the House of Zwide actress, saying she was hoping to grow old with her.
Lebohang further accused Letoya of physical abuse and infidelity. She also claimed that in October last year, Letoya burnt her with boiling water.
She further released a statement shared by her publicist Pearl Mbewe Maake KaNcube (the wife of actor Sello Maake kaNcube) stating that their split was indefinite.
“I’ve concluded it’s time to move on and pick up the pieces of what’s left to try to live the most joyful and satisfied life imaginable,” Lebohang said in the statement.
However, in a recent interview with Sunday World, Letoya claimed that it was Lebohang who was abusive towards her.
Letoya alleged that she suffered broken ribs on many occasions at the hands of Lebohang. The singer also alleged that had a badly burnt leg that took over four months to heal.
The actress, who is also a sangoma, further accused her estranged wife of stealing money from her and refusing to return her indumba – a sacred hut for traditional healers.
“Now she is withholding my indumba, this is part of my finances, she is holding my clothes. At some point, we have had power of attorney over each other’s accounts, and the saddest moment for me was realising how much money of mine she was moving,” Letoya told the publication.
According to social media gossip account MaphephaNdaba, Lebohang hit out at Letoya in leaked WhatsApp posts.
“No I did not steal any money from Letoya.
When I met Letoya she had nothing. She had a child who did not have napkins or milk and that’s the first thing I bought for her. She had moved back to her Grandmothers house in Tladi. To say the least her situation was beyond miserable and bad. How do I steal from a ‘Pauper’ literally [sic].
“When I met Letoya she was literally sleeping with different men just for her to provide for her kids and family. She had nothing. She roamed Shebeens in Soweto for survival. She was literally a sex worker but we don’t judge sex workers right. Work is work and you have to do what you have to do for survival [sic],” read some of Lebohang’s posts on WhatsApp.
Lebohang further called Letoya a fraudulent sangoma.
“LETOYA DOES NOT HAVE AN NUMBA BECAUSE SHES NOT A QUALIFIED SANGOMA. HER LAST MTUNTU WAS THROWN IN THE RUBBISH BIN BY GOGO MULLE. That Gogo Mulle is just another big media story waiting to happen [sic],” she alleged.
