Scopa receives Cyril Ramaphosa’s response on leaked audio recording

The Standing Committee on Public Accounts says it has received President Cyril Ramaphosa’s response on the misuse of public funds.

Committee Chairperson Mkhuleko Hlengwa says he has referred the response to the Parliamentary Legal Services on a way forward.

This is after allegations surfaced in a leaked audio clip, in which someone who sounds like Ramaphosa, can be heard admitting that he was aware that the ANC had used public funds for party purposes.

The committee is set to discuss the letter along with the legal advice next Wednesday, 16 February.
