Land reform department launches new website

The Rural Development and Land Reform Department has come up with a website on which farm owners would be able to make property available for reform purposes. The online portal would serve as the only way applicants could apply for property through government’s land reform programme.
The department’s Bonginkosi Zulu explained: “We have developed the policy on the beneficiary selection and land allocation. The system has been provisionally approved by cabinet for public comment.
The department is finalising a policy on land donation, enabling farmers who are willing to donate land for land reform purposes. The website will not be the only new resource for farmers, the department has also proposed a help desk to deal with specific complaints across the country.
