Purpose of Position
To receive and process specimens accurately.
Key Responsibilities
Process specimens in order to ensure timeous and sufficient delivery of results.
Perform Automate functions in order to ensure optimal functioning of the Automates at all times.
Perform general laboratory tasks in order to ensure that relevant safety and accreditation standards are maintained.
Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath.
Candidate Requirements
Required
Grade 12
HPCSA registration as Laboratory Assistant
Knowledge of the Meditech system
Communication skills: Read, write and speak fluently in English.
Computer skills: Use basic computer technology effectively.
Advantageous
Knowledge of the Health and Safety Act
Knowledge of the Human Tissue Act
Knowledge of HPCSA regulations
