KZN workers hand over memorandum of demands

The Kwazulu-Natal Finance MEC has been tasked with conveying health workers’ demands to the national government.
Striking Nehawu members marched to the provincial legislature during the budget debate to deliver a memorandum of demands.
Among other things, they want who are demanding a 10 percent pay increase.
KZN Finance MEC Peggy Nkonyeni must now send the message to the national government.
She took the time to give KwaZulu-Natal’s plans.
“67 percent of the budget that we have tabled actually goes to social services sector like the department of health and education in particular for us to address some of the issues you have mentioned here,” she said.
