The Young Nurses Indaba Trade Union is pleading for more healthcare workers to be deployed to KwaZulu-Natal.
Over 80 healthcare facilities have been damaged and it will cost R184-million to repair them.
The union says the biggest problem at the moment is manpower.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Joe Phaahla said damage to health facilities in the province is not as bad as expected.
Over 80 health facilities were damaged by floods.
The minister says about 90 percent of damaged facilities will still be able to operate partially.
