ANC expecting to conclude KZN conference on Sunday

The ANC expects plain sailing as its KwaZulu-Natal elective conference gets underway in Durban.

It said being the last province, it has learned from other areas.

The party says delaying the start has allowed it to resolve issues.

It hopes to finish all its work by Sunday.

ANC spokesperson Nhlakanipho Ntombela said: “We are fortunate to come among the last provinces to hold the conference we have learned from the experience of Gauteng, Eastern Cape, Limpopo and Mpumalanga.

“So according to our plan is that today [Friday] we should be able to elect and nominate the officials so that tomorrow is dedicated to discussing policy documents…so that by Sunday when you close the conference you close the conference that has concluded even on policy matters of the organization not just electing and nominating the leadership.”
