KwaZulu-Natal ANC secretary Mdumiseni Ntuli warns against legitimising factions in ANC

KwaZulu-Natal ANC secretary Mdumiseni Ntuli says the party should not allow ill-disciplined members to hijack party resolutions to reform the economy. This is in reference to the so-called RET faction. The fact that they define themselves as RET forces, I don’t think the ANC should formally embrace that language because it’s a diversion,” Ntuli said.

“It has an intention to weaken the essence and importance of the resolution of the organisation about the need to ensure that we transfer the economy into the hands of the poor. So I don’t think we should give them that dignified characterisation.

“These are members who are not happy about one thing or the other within the organisation and have decided to define themselves that particular way. If we pursue them with that definition, we might end up denigrating aspects of the national conference resolutions,” he said.

Let’s not glorify wrongdoing. We agree with NEC position that comrades who have defined themselves that way must not be allowed to divide the organisation and nobody must be seen to be associated with them. Failure to which they must be taken to Disciplinary Committee so they can account for their sins.
