Eskom has suspended the general manager of Koeberg Power Station. The utility is citing performance-related issues for placing Velaphi Ntuli on suspension.
The power utility says investigations into Koeberg’s performance are continuing.
One of its generating units has been offline since January.
Eskom says load-shedding could have been reduced if the unit had come back online in May, as originally planned.
South Africa is experiencing regular load-shedding, which is affecting the economy.
