Khusela Diko takes leave after R125m PPE tender scandal linked to husband

Presidential spokesperson Khusela Diko has been granted a leave of absence.
In March, her husband, Amabaca King Madzikazi Thandisizwe Diko, was reportedly awarded two tenders amounting to R125-million for the supply of personal protective equipment.
There have been calls for Diko to step down while her husband’s tender is investigated but she says he never took up the tender deal and no money was paid.
Meanwhile, the ANC in Gauteng has been holding a series of meetings on Monday afternoon to discuss corruption allegations, involving Diko’s husband.
