Khayelitsha CPF says crime in Site C had been getting out of hand

Khayelitsha Community Police Forum (CPF) chairperson, Monde Bambelo, said that crime in Site C had been getting out of hand recently.
On Saturday, 13 people were shot, six of whom died and seven others injured.
In one incident, three children and an adult were gunned down inside a barbershop in Site C.
A few hours earlier, two men were shot and killed not far from the barbershop crime scene.
Bambelo said that gun violence in Site C was a daily occurrence.
“On Wednesday, I was in a Somalian shop where four boys entered that Somalian shop, and I was inside, all of them armed, looking for protection fee money. In that shop, anything could’ve happened but we kept quiet. So, it says to us as the community, there’s too many guns in this neighbourhood.”
