Katlego Danke could allegedly lose her home over unpaid bond

Katlego Danke is the latest star to be hit by reports claiming she is battling financially
The Sunday World claims the Isidingo star is about to be kicked out of her Randburg home because she can’t make the payments on her bond.
According to the publication, the actress took out a R447 600 loan with FNB bank in 2005 and allegedly has to pay around R4 000 in the monthly instalments.
The Sunday World claims she is currently over R21 000 in arrears after failing to make the payments. The bank reportedly sent a letter of demand to the actress to settle the outstanding amount, but she apparently ignored it.
“Due notice was given in terms of section 129 of the Act, at least 10 days lapsed since the notice was given to the defendant. The defendant failed to respond to the respective notice alternatively, no arrangement or proposals were made or reached as contemplated under section 130(1)(b) of the Act,” the Sunday World quoted papers filed in the Johannesburg High Court two weeks ago.
FNB now wants to auction off the house, which is worth around R950 000, to recoup its money.
It’s unclear if the star still lives in the home.
The publication says Katlego could not be reached for comment.
She is not the only celebrity who has had trouble with the bank over a property
According to a Sunday World report in April, former Generations star Sophie Ndaba-Lichaba was on the verge of losing her Johannesburg mansion.
The actress was renting out the property and the tenants reportedly failed to make payments, resulting in the bond being R80 000 in arrears.
In a separate report the same month, the publication revealed that musician Zahara “failed to oppose an application brought by Nedbank last year to repossess her almost R2-million gated property” west of Johannesburg.
The paper added that Standard bank was also looking to repossess the singer’s Ranger Rover Evoque after she failed to keep up with the monthly instalments.
