Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for full bookkeeping process
Reconciling account balances and bank statements
Maintain general ledger accounts
Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
Act as a liaison for vendors to reconcile any billing discrepancies
Maintain and record fixed assets
Correct errors by posting adjusting journal entries
Assist with budgets
Assist with yearly audit and tax returns
Secure financial information by completing database backups
Keeping information confidential
Prepare and file compliance reporting as necessary

Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
SAIPA articles
Hands on experience with accounting software packages like Pastel and Quickbooks
Aptitude for numbers and qualitative skills
Evidence of ongoing learning and development

Technical Understanding:
Possesses an understanding of IFRS, South African Income Tax, PAYE, VAT.
Strong Excel skills
Strong analytical skills
