No high profile arrests for July unrest – Hawks

The head of the Hawks is remaining mum on whether we’ll see any high-profile arrests in connection with the July 2021 unrest.

Lt Gen Godfrey Lebeya has confirmed eight more arrests have been made in Gauteng, bringing the total number to 43 so far.

Meanwhile, 41 statements have been obtained in connection with President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala farm robbery.

The Hawks is also part of a task team dealing with the 172 recommendations from the state capture report requiring the attention of law enforcement.
