EFF leader Julius Malema and party spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi are expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s court on assault charges on Wednesday.
The duo is accused of assaulting a police officer who denied them access to the funeral of Winnie Mandela in April last year. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras.
The officer laid a charge against the pair but Afriforum says the case didn’t receive attention and pushed for the matter to be heard.
