Julius Malema wants firearms charges dropped

EFF leader Julius Malema is expected to apply to have his firearm case removed from the court roll.
He is accused of discharging a weapon in public during the party’s fifth-anniversary celebration back in 2018.
A video of Malema went viral when he accused East London Magistrate Twanet Olivier of always being late.
He now wants to have all charges against him dropped due to lack of evidence.
His co-accused and bodyguard, Adriaan Snyman, is also making the same application.
The EFF leader faces five charges, including reckless endangerment to people or property.
Meanwhile, Snyman faces two charges under the Firearms Controls Act for providing the gun.
