Judicial Service Commission votes to impeach WC Judge President John Hlophe

The Judicial Service Commission wants Western Cape Judge President, John Hlophe, to face an impeachment vote. A Judicial Conduct Tribunal found Hlophe guilty of gross misconduct for trying to influence the outcomes of former President Jacob Zuma’s corruption trial in 2008.
The JSC says it will give further details on the matter soon. The impeachment vote will be taken to the National Assembly, where MPs will decide whether Hlophe should be removed from office.
