The EFF plans to file a complaint against Acting Chief Justice Raymond Zondo with the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
It wants him referred to the Judicial Conduct Committee.
The party says Zondo acted unethically when he admitted to communicating with Justice Minister Ronald Lamola ahead of the appointment of an Acting Constitutional Court Judge.
The EFF alleges it was to influence the appointment of Judge Dunstan Mlambo to the position.
The exchanges were made at Friday’s JSC interviews for the position of Chief Justice.
The session ended in a screaming match between EFF leader Julius Malema and Lamola.
