ANC Joburg region to honour late mayor Jolidee Matongo

The ANC’s Johannesburg Region is dedicating the upcoming local government elections to the city’s late mayor, Jolidee Matongo.

Matongo died in a car crash on Saturday.

He had spent the day in Soweto campaigning alongside President Cyril Ramaphosa and Gauteng Premier David Makhura.

Matongo’s death comes just weeks after he took over the city’s reins after the death of Geoff Makhubo.

The ANC in Johannesburg now says it will work tirelessly to win the upcoming local elections in honour of the late mayor Jolidee “Jolly good fella” Matongo.
