Family still reeling from Johannesburg Mayor Jolidee Matongo’s death

The family of late Johannesburg Mayor Jolidee Matongo is still reeling from shock over his death.

Matongo died in a car crash on Saturday.

He was on his way home after spending the day encouraging people to register for the November polls.

“We are still trying to come to terms with what happened, as the family is coming in to put their heads together, we are still trying to reel behind it,” said family spokesperson, Mzikayise Ndlovu.

“So I would just say that the family is trying as much as we can, given that the brother couldn’t talk, it gives more sense to how deep this has been. Jolidee Matongo was in his prime and everybody was looking up to him and we as well were looking up to him.”
