New Joburg mayor says he’s no one’s proxy

The minority parties in Johannesburg have installed a new sheriff in the City.

Thapelo Amad, from the Al Jama-ah party, has been elected as the new Johannesburg mayor.

He beat former mayor Mpho Phalatse from the DA, and Funzi Ngobeni from Action SA.
