Families of Joburg fire victims urged to identify their loved ones

Gauteng Health is urging families of victims to identify their loved ones at Diepkloof and Hillbrow mortuaries.

More than 70 people died in the Marshalltown blaze in downtown Johannesburg on Thursday.

Ten of the victims were burnt beyond recognition.

Twelve children also died in the fire.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has expressed his condolences to the families who’ve lost loved ones.

Ramaphosa said he hopes that the investigations will assist in preventing future fires.
