Seri hits back at politicians criticizing NGOs following Joburg fire

The Socio-Economic Rights Institute (SERI) has rejected comments from various politicians who have accused NGOs of preventing evictions of tenants from illegal buildings.
Earlier this year, acting Joburg mayor Kenny Kunene was threatened with court action for what SERI described as unlawful raids.
Researcher Edward Molopi says all they asked for was a proper plan that wouldn’t leave people homeless.
