JMPD officer arrested for allegedly killing motorist after altercation
A JMPD officer remains in custody after he allegedly shot and killed a motorist following an altercation in Cosmo City.
JMPD spokesperson Wayne Minnaar said the officer was off duty when the incident happened on Thursday night.
“The off-duty officer allegedly nearly collided with a driver in a blue Nissan Almera, the driver then chased the officer and there was an altercation between the two before the officer fired at the car multiple times, using his service pistol”, said Minnaar.
The passengers in the Almera escaped unharmed and police are investigating the incident.
