Advocate Nomgcobo Jiba has applied for an urgent interdict to halt Parliament’s process on her reinstatement.
This pending the outcome of her review application to have President Cyril Ramaphosa‘s decision to fire her and also her bid to have the Mokgro inquiry findings set aside. The matter will be heard by the High Court in Cape Town on Wednesday.
Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Justice and Correctional Services was scheduled to consider the matter of Jiba and Lawrence Mrwebi’s submissions on Tuesday.
The committee decided to wait until the court judgment on the issue is delivered.
