Jagersfontein mine owner accused of duping community

The Kopanong Local Municipality is accusing the Jagersfontein mine owner of refusing to take accountability for the disaster there.

A mine dam burst its walls in September, killing at least three people and sweeping away houses and cars.

Families have filed a lawsuit to sue the owners of the Free State diamond mine.

A document has surfaced alleging that the owners are forcing residents to sign a deal that compromises their civil claim.
