Company based in Bryanston has a vacancy available for an IT Security Specialist with relevant information security certifications; as well as at least 3 years’ work experience with technical security administration.
This role is the guardian of our information and clients’ information that is entrusted with the company – the information. This role has to ensure that
the companies’
immune system, the information security, is in optimal health – no viruses, no worms, information is not stolen, nothing is maliciously implanted or replaced.
This is done by:
– Providing information security services and advice that allows our clients to sleep easy at night, knowing that their business information is safe and secure
– Administering and controlling all security functions and compliance in the company and divisions
Duties:
Own and control all security functions in the company and all divisions
Maintain the current security architecture and implementations
Perform daily checks as to security incidents and exceptions
Produce weekly reports on all security products and tools
Assist in Security Audits when performed by external auditors
Deploy and implement new security technologies and controls
Manage, support and monitor all internal security-related products and incidents
Perform vulnerability assessments, and drive mitigation projects
Perform security review of all IT implementations

Knowledge and Skills
Information Security Best Practise knowledge
In-depth security reporting
Working understanding of Networking principles and methodologies
Qualifications and Experience:
Grade 12
Any security product qualifications preferred, any major vendors, spam, firewall management, antivirus, NIPS, HIPS
At least one general security qualification required:

CISA, towards CISSP, or
CISM, or
Information Security Management, or
Security+
At least 3 years in technical security administration position
Powershell or batch scripting experience will be an advantage
Competencies:
Technical information security aspects, including: Operating system hardening, Windows and Linux
Vulnerability management – Nessus
Antivirus management – McAfee
Patch management – SCCM and WSUS
Firewall management – Fortigate
Network Intrusion Prevention management – Fortigate IP
Able to drive security mitigations and escalations to completion
Able to work independently as well as within a team
Able to work under pressure and display initiative
Good troubleshooting skills and good technical report writing skills
Organised and able to meet deadlines and people skills
