Employer: Furniture Bargaining Council
Accountable for the overall performance of all spheres of the IT management and to ensure they are aligned to changing and growing business needs.
Develop and implement IT governance, policies and procedures to ensure IT operational effectiveness and manage all IT related processes.
Determine business requirements for IT systems, direct the planning and development of business analysis and perform project management of IT initiatives.
Develop, communicate and execute IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the Council.

Manage, together with the Service Provider, all critical backups, onsite and telephonic support, after hour support, support of all IT Systems and infrastructure, all hardware and relative software

Stay abreast with technology through consultation with Service Providers, external suppliers and ensure IT Equipment is fit for purpose and in line with specific business needs

Source software and hardware equipment to ensure the best option is implemented to ensure alignment with departmental objectives and ensuring the most effective utilisation of resources.
Develop options through consultation and ensure the implementation and completion of networking, software and hardware installation projects to ensure optimal connectivity availability and utilisation.
Manage all software, hardware and connectivity related issues together with Service Providers to ensure optimal system availability and optimisation of resources.
Design and implement a Disaster Recovery plan.
Ensure disaster recovery testing, performing of backups, system recovery and maintenance of backup policies and procedures.

Ensure the management, control and distribution of anti-virus installations, daily updates and licensing for each machine with the assistance of Service Provider technicians, ensuring the network is free from Viruses, Ransomware and/or Spyware.
Manage Service Provider with regards to the investigation of user problems, reporting needs, system problems and other user or company needs.
Resolve, provide support and assistance, analyse, propose solutions pertaining to all systems and/or challenges and any other tasks that are required by the company’s Executive Committee.
Serve as technical advisor to Management, business units and departments on all IT related matters, including but not limited to compliance requirements relating policies, procedures and legal

Manage the development and testing of new IT programmes developed specifically for the Council.
Develop and implement Network operations and IT support plans.
Negotiate contracts with the service providers for software, hardware and consulting services.
Manage and oversee outsourced service providers /contractors and ensure service levels agreements are met.
Ensure the integrity of the IT security infrastructure and the stability of the systems environment.
Develop and implement IT service delivery improvement programmes.
Provide organisation-wide IT systems, tools, training and support.
Overall accountability for the compliance and risk management of the IT department.
Effective budget management.
Provide thought leadership and best practice to ensure competitive advantage.
Develop and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to enable the Council to meet its strategic objectives.
Candidate Requirements
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or BSc Computer Science,
Windows Administration and support skills with Microsoft Qualifications,
MS Exchange & Active Directory experience and Qualifications

Experience : 8 years IT management experience with 3 years in a management role.

Backup, Recovery & Maintenance hands-on experience,
COBIT,
IT Planning, IT Technical Management, Information Analysis, Computer Hardware/Software systems,

Risk Management, Budgeting and Reporting, Procurement Management, Project Management, IT Asset Management, Change Management.

Skills :
