With all the talk of clubs scrambling for the signatures of Erling Haaland and Harry Kane, there are quite a few red-hot strikers going under the radar in Europe. Certain top clubs may be wise to ignore the hype and focus on searching for other gems who may be attainable at a lower price to these sharpshooters. One player that has been gaining a lot of attention in the last year is Alexander Isak. It could be the perfect time for a major side to purchase the player before the inevitable media hype that could result in an inflated valuation.
Liverpool Said to be Interested in the Player
Playing at Euro 2020 with Sweden has helped to boost Isak’s profile and has led to a great amount of speculation about the player. As tends to be the case around each transfer window, there are a healthy number of rumors in the newspapers, but it is hard to say whether there is any truth in what’s being reported.
There is a lot of talk around Liverpool being interested in Isak’s signature, as pundits and journalists ponder whether Jurgen Klopp will decide to spruce up his attack. In 71 league appearances for the club he has notched 26 goals and, at the tender age of 21, there is still a lot more to come after his 17-goal 2020/21 season.
Almost the same height as his fellow countryman, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Isak shares a lot of the same qualities with the football legend and has been touted as his natural successor. He is a complete striker with incredible positional awareness, a lightning turn of pace, and a hitman’s accuracy on goal. Isak would be an asset to any team, and it would be surprising if he didn’t go to a top club in the near future.
Isak is definitely one to watch over the next few seasons. He has already shown a fierce ability at Real Sociedad and, if he is nurtured in the right way, he could go on to be an icon. Playing alongside world-class players at a top club would help Isak massively, and it wouldn’t be a shock to see him signed by a huge name in the near future.
