Expert says international syndicate could be behind kidnappings

An international syndicate could be behind the recent kidnappings of prominent business people or their family members.
That’s according to a kidnapping expert.
A KwaZulu-Natal man was kidnapped on the 6th of March from his business premises in Reservoir Hills.
He managed to escape and two suspects have been arrested.
In Cape Town, the whereabouts of 69-year-old Ismail Rajah is still not known after he was kidnapped on Wednesday.
Zain Ashfaq, also from Cape Town, was released last week after he was kidnapped in Mitchells Plain.
Recent crime stats show that kidnappings increased by 35,7 percent between October and December 2021.
Over the same period, 2,600 cases were reported with many involving ransoms being demanded for the release of victims.
