THE PURPOSE OF THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME IS TO OFFER GRADUATES (DIPLOMA/DEGREE) WITH NO RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE THE OPPORTUNITY TO OBTAIN PRACTICAL WORKPLACE EXPOSURE AND EXPERIENCE. Duties and responsibilities:

Assist with the UFS101 Teaching Assistant Programme:
Assist with the logistics regarding the Teaching Assistant training.
Assist with the logistics at the class venues.
Book and set up venues for meetings and interviews.
Set up of CV summaries.
Set up of Teaching Assistant attendance schedules.
Supervise the arrival of Teaching Assistants at marking meetings, weekly teaching assistants meetings and learning experiences.
Assist with the monitoring of Teaching Assistants at classes.
Compile the Teaching Assistants timesheets for the month.
Assist with analysis and report writing of training feedback.
Assist with bi-annual Teaching Assistant reports.

Assist with Blackboard:
Assist with Blackboard administration in terms of uploading and downloading of content and edits across the UFS101 groups.

Inherent requirements:
Bachelor’s degree with specialization in Industrial Psychology or Human Resources Management or Education Management and Leadership.

Required competencies:
Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to function with ease in the University’s richly diverse working environment.
Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft: Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
Excellent verbal and written language proficiency in English.
Excellent academic literacy skills.
Excellent organisational skills.
Ability to set up and manage schedules.
Ability to monitor compliance to operational tasks.
Ability to organise and assist with logistical arrangements for setting up meetings and trainings.
Knowledge on compiling and analysing feedback for research purposes.

Recommendations:
Honours degree with specialization in Industrial Psychology or Human Resources Management or Education Management and Leadership.

The following criteria apply to the selection of candidates:
Not currently participating in an existing learnership/internship programme.
Willing to sign a learnership/internship agreement with the UFS.
Candidate must be available for a period of one (1) year.
Postgraduate qualification will serve as a recommendation.

Assumption of duties:
1 August 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Closing date:

21 June 2019.

Salary:

The salary scale is available on request.
