Position
Perform day-to-day farm maintenance operations and in addition is tasked to manage and coordinate the workers in this section.
Reporting to:
Maintenance Manager
Responsibilities(Including but not limited to)
Perform and oversee maintenance and repairs at various locations on the grounds of the farm
Prioritizing, scheduling of requests for repairs and installations
Ensure all infrastructure, equipment, buildings, and working parts are well maintained on a regular schedule
To perform any repairs or maintenance required and endure the upkeep of the premises to ensure continuous production
Ensuring all maintenance employees are wearing and using the appropriate PPE
Timely and accurate completion of duties
Repair equipment
Complete electrical, plumbing or other general repair tasks
To ensure that the gardens and road reserves are kept neat and tidy
Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks
Identify and report the need for major repairs
To take due care of company property and product
Wear all prescribed PPE
To adhere to all company rules, policies, procedures and core values
It may be required to perform other work for which you are either qualified or capable of doing within the company from time to time
Must be capable and willing to work overtime when required
Work Environment – The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles.The noise level is usually moderate to loud
Must be capable to do weekend duty according to the weekend roster, these duties may include the off-loading of cattle and opening of gates
Required skills and knowledge
Minimum requirement Grade 12 certificate
Preference will be given to candidates with a trade qualification
At least 3 years farm maintenance experience with solid track record
Skilled hands and technical knowledge are important
Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
Understanding of electrical, plumbing and carpentry
Basic math skills
English literacy
Computer literacy (Word and Excel)
Valid driver’s licence
