Back to school as all systems go for inland schools

Schools in inland provinces are ready to open on Wednesday.
That’s the assurance from Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga.
But rotational timetables will remain.
Motshekga updated on the school’s readiness for 2022.
Despite calls for schools to return to normal, Motshekga insists the rotational timetable will continue.
“With regards to schooling, the situation will remain the same, especially rotational time-tabling, where it was applicable when we concluded schooling in 2021,” she said.
“The fact of the matter is that COVID-19 is very much still with us, and we need to continue to work together to fight it.”
With tensions brewing over the placement of some Grade 1 and 8 learners in Gauteng, Motshekga has pleaded for patience.
“The department is aware that there are still learners who are yet to be placed in schools,” she said.
“At the moment, Gauteng is experiencing challenges in this regard and we appeal to parents and guardians to cooperate with the district officials to resolve any matter.”
