DENOSA says infrastructure department a cash cow for looters

DENOSA Gauteng chair Simphiwe Gada says the Department of Infrastructure Development (DID) is just a cash cow for looters.

Gada says the department has proved on numerous occasions that it’s incapable of fixing damaged government buildings.

He says the R18-million government says it needs to fix Tambo Memorial Hospital is inaccurate as no thorough assessment was done.

“In the Tambo Memorial Hospital, within a short space of time, without doing proper assessment, we saw management of DID announcing R18-million where we know there are no structural damages,” Gada said.

“That is why we warned against looting. Because DID has been used for looting.”
