Fire razes Cato Crest informal settlement
KwaZulu-Natal: Late Thursday morning emergency services responded to a structural fire at the Cato Crest informal settlement off King Cetshwayo Highway in Mayville Durban.
When medics arrived on the scene a large portion of the homes was well alight with residents scrambling to save whatever possessions they could.
According to members of the public that the fire had started allegedly due to an illegal electrical connection.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported and the fire had been extinguished by the Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services.
