Bonginkosi Khanyile incitement trial to commence in August

The trial of alleged July unrest instigator Bonginkosi Khanyile will begin in August 2022.
The Fees Must Fall activist appeared briefly in the Durban magistrate’s court on Tuesday.
After failing to appear in court in December, Khanyile produced a doctor’s note.
He is charged with incitement to commit public violence, during last year’s July unrest.
He also faces a charge relating to alleged lockdown violations.
The unrest saw more than 300 people killed in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.
The trial begins on 15 August.
