KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala says all employees at a community healthcare centre in Inanda north of Durban are waiting for their COVID-19 test results. The facility was temporarily closed after six nurses tested positive. Community members have been advised to use nearby health facilities instead.
“Following the positive testing of four nurses and one doctor, the department took a decision to close the facility,” Zikalala said. This was done as a safety precaution and to allow for the decontamination of the facility in accordance with the established protocol.
“We’ve since tested all employees for COVID-19 and their results are being conveyed to them on a continuous basis.”
Employees who test negative will be allowed to return to work after a period of quarantine. Coronavirus Hotline Number: 0800 029 999 from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday.
