Home Affairs and CoGTA to be briefed on illegal migration

The South African Local Government Association (SALGA) and Mayors of the City of Johannesburg and Ekurhuleni are expected to brief Parliament’s Home Affairs and Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs committees on illegal migration.

Home Affairs will also brief the committees on initiatives to address matters raised by the Joburg Mayor Herman Mashaba in order to promote social cohesion, manage illegal migration and prevent Xenophobia.

Recently, foreign nationals requested to be taken back to their countries after violence against foreigners flared up around the country.
