Idols SA Winner Zama Khumalo shows off her new Ride
Witbank-born, Idols SA season 16 winner, Zama Khumalo who walked away with R1 million, a recording deal from Kalawa Jazmee, R150,000 worth of the latest Samsung products, a new Toyota Starlet 1.4, R100,000 worth of fashion from Truworths, a Kymco Xciting 400 scooter worth R120,000 and R80,000 worth of musical instruments from Yamaha, has finally gotten her wheels.
The shy songstress with a voice of an angel announced the news on her Instagram account yesterday with the picture of a brand new, white Toyota Starlet and captioned the image with: “Thank you @toyota for my beautiful baby❤️Thank you @idolssa for making this happen.
The singer who was encouraged by her family to enter the singing competition was announced as the winner last year with more than 20 million votes and became an instant millionaire.
She’s also been trending after it was reported that she and Idols SA season 16 semi-finalist Brandon Dhludhlu are a couple.
The coupled also rubbished rumours they’re engaged after they were trending last year when they met each other’s parents. The duo fell in-love during the competition and competed in the top 3 of the reality singing show, then went public about their romance after the competition.
They were also rumoured to have spent New Year’s together at Dhludhlu’s hometown, Barberton, in Mpumalanga. Dhludhlu who is 22 and Khumalo who is 19 have been dating for 10 months and began dating during season 16’s theatre week.
“We are dating and we started dating in theatre week before the show even started playing on TV. It’s been months now but people will think we [just] started to date now. It was so scary to be in the competition with her because I was so scared of her because she was one of the strongest contestants in season 16.
But I love her. So we spoke about the fact that it’s a competition and we are not going to let it get in the way of our relationship.”
